FCA 1st Quarter Honor Roll

October 23, 2009 - With the completion of its first nine-week period, Faith Christian Academy (FCA) in Water Valley, Mississippi, held its first quarter Parent-Teacher Fellowship. During the meeting Dr. Bob Hill, administrator, announced the names of those students who attained the first quarter "A" and "B" Honor Rolls. Mrs. Grace Kerr, teacher, reported that the school-wide academic average was 96.7 percent based on nationwide testing. FCA maintained a 96% academic average throughout the 2008-2009 school year.

Students earning the distinction of making "A" Honor Roll are: Christian Allen, Lindsey Allen, Samantha Allred, Miriam Hill, Grafton Muirhead, Brooke Norwood, Segan Prince, Megan Stone, Nathan Stone, Noah Watson, and Savannah Watson. Students achieving "B" Honor Roll are: Matthew Loflin and Briana Norwood.

Honor Roll students at FCA are provided with quarterly field trips. Students attaining the first quarter Honor Roll visited the Mississippi State Fair in Jackson. The students enjoyed riding the mid-way Ferris wheel, watching the circus under the big tent, and eating funnel cake. The weather was perfect for the day at the State Fair, in spite of threatening thunder storms elsewhere in the state.

During the Parent-Teacher Fellowship, Mrs. Virginia Hill presented first grade student Noah Watson his ABC's diploma for successfully completing the school's learning to read program. The ABC's with Ace and Christi program is published by Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) and is a colorful phonics-based learning program.

Faith Christian Academy is currently in its thirty-first year of ministry, serving the greater Water Valley and Oxford areas.
